Privacy

Outbird needs almost nothing about you, because a bird is not an account. This page is everything we hold, why, and what we never do with it.

What we store

On your device

Your bird's id and secret live in your browser's localStorage — that is what holds the bird — along with small preferences (sound on, bout seen). No tracking cookies. Clearing your browser storage forgets a free bird permanently.

Analytics

We use Cloudflare Web Analytics — cookieless, aggregate page counts. No ad networks, no fingerprinting, no third-party trackers.

Third parties

Stripe processes payments (and where it is merchant of record, it is a data controller of the transaction). Google Cloud hosts the game. Cloudflare provides the analytics above. When you list a site, we fetch that site's public icon and description to draw your bird's plate — and pages showing your bird load that icon from its own host, so your browser talks to the hosts that birds on the page point at.

What we never do

No selling or sharing of personal data. No marketing email. The only mail we will ever send goes to a paid bird's bound address, about that bird (recovery, receipts, service notices).

Retention and removal

The game's history is an append-only log — settled nights stay settled. Retiring a bird removes it from play and its link from the site; purchase records are kept as long as accounting requires. To ask about or remove data tied to you, write to hello@outbird.lol — from the bound address if your bird has one, or with your bird's secret if it does not. Names on already-settled nights stay in the archive; the bird and its link come down.
